23559773_10159855313330727_4275436493705617088_nHello! My name is Hannah, I also go by Jaedia online, and Dragons and Whimsy is my “geeky hobby blog” where I talk about books, video games, tabletop games, music, maybe mental health and life, whatever tickles my fancy. I’m a British asexual spoonie currently unable to work due to mental health and undiagnosed pain and fatigue so I have a lot of time and love making new friends. I can almost always be found on Twitter and in my Discord server: the Dragon Flight.

I have been blogging on and off since I was around 14, and then back in 2009 I started my first blog that led me here: The Lazy Sniper, a World of Warcraft blog. Over time, I made a second blog called the Rant Page, a place for me to get things off my chest but that ended up becoming my first book blog; Once Upon a Time. This lasted until around 2014 when my mental health got too bad and I took a prolonged break, and in 2015 I started working for an MMORPG news and review website called MMOGames where I worked until the end of 2018. In that same year, I opened up this blog, which was a continuation of a hosted blog of the same name, purely to ensure I still had a space for myself to blog when I wanted to. It has been very on/off since then, up until June 2021 when I decided to try and fix my 7 year reading slump and return to book blogging. So I’ve been around the block a bit!

I love speculative fiction, particularly epic fantasy, urban fantasy, horror, magical realism, and science fiction, and anything witchy/romantic, but mostly I love exploring good stories, regardless of genre and medium. I enjoy all things cute, as well as mythology, folklore, anthropology, nature, astronomy, and history, plus-sized fashion, in my own way, and alternative music. In my spare time, I play video games and Dungeons & Dragons, read and collect books, listen to all sorts of music (all I can suggest is to check out my last.fm if you’re curious), craft, particularly cross stitch though I also love colouring, and really want to get into crochet because apparently I don’t have enough hobbies. I also watch various TV shows in the above genres, as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race and various documentaries looking at history, culture, science, and people, and anime from time to time. I’m also a pagan witch and thoroughly loving exploring the origins and history of paganism and witchcraft, as well as what people currently believe and do in their practices, and tarot is a tool I love too.

So dragons and whimsy are my bag. If that all sounds intriguing to you, feel free to pull up a seat and stay awhile, because I have a lot to share when I get going.
